Dora Kisyakova

Dora is a highly experienced yoga teacher with over 470 hours of accredited training, recognised by the British Wheel of Yoga and Yoga Alliance Professionals. Her teaching is rooted in the Scaravelli approach and informed by functional anatomy, therapeutic movement principles, and nearly two decades of personal practice.

Dora has been practising yoga for over 19 years. Throughout that time, yoga has supported her through pregnancy, chronic stress, persistent pain, and the management of Rheumatoid Arthritis following personal trauma. Experiencing significant joint restriction, particularly in her wrists and fingers, deepened her interest in safe, intelligent movement and the role of yoga in supporting joint health, mobility and long-term self-management.

This lived experience, alongside continued professional study, shapes her thoughtful and clinically-informed approach. She has undertaken extensive training in Hatha Yoga, Scaravelli-inspired yoga, functional anatomy, Yin Yoga, Yoga Nidra, hands-on assisting and myofascial anatomy, studying with respected senior teachers across the UK.

Dora is fascinated by the intelligence of the human body and the subtle relationship between body and mind. Her classes focus on cultivating deep physical awareness, functional alignment and ease of movement, with particular attention to the spine and joints. Students are guided to create space within the body, encouraging fluidity in the joints, elasticity in the muscles and fascia, and greater freedom in movement.

Alongside physical exploration, Dora weaves in opportunities to pause, breathe and soften — supporting a calmer nervous system, renewed energy and a more comfortable relationship with the body.

At the heart of her teaching is the belief that self-care is essential to wellbeing. She creates a supportive and inclusive environment where students of all ages and abilities feel safe to explore their practice with awareness, compassion and curiosity.
