Theresa has been practising Pilates for over 12 years, and trained as an instructor at the central London YMCA; qualifying in Stott Pilates Matwork. Theresa helps clients improve their posture, strengthen their back and abdominal muscles, and increase their flexibility by guiding them through a series of exercises which focus on stabilising the central core. The Saturday morning class at Dragonfly is at an intermediate level; suitable for beginners and also those with some previous experience of Pilates. Clients are encouraged to listen to their own bodies, and take each exercise to the level that is suitable for them.Theresa is also a practising acupuncturist, and encourages clients to think of the mental and emotional benefits of regular exercise, as well as the physical aspect. Both Pilates and acupuncture feed Theresa’s interest in the mind-body connection between activity and health.
